School AttendanceSchool attendance is important because it underscores the significance of learning and the importance of obtaining an education. In addition, a focus on regular attendance helps students develop good work habits that will carry over in life. Good attendance also correlates strongly with improved grades. The responsibility of school attendance is that of both parents and students.

FFMS Attendance Interventions* Teacher contact with parent/guardian regarding multiple consecutive absences
* 5, 7, 10 day GCPS Attendance Letters for unexcused absences * Student Attendance Review Committee (SARC) Meeting with teachers, counselors, AP, school social worker * Local Inter-agency Planning Team (LIPT) with school social worker and representatives from various county agencies **Individuals with multiple unexcused absences will check in daily with their counselor with an attendance punch chard. Once a punch card is complete an incentive is earned. Multiple completed punch cards earn larger incentives. |
